REGULATIONS

ART. 1 ORGANIZATION
Bartaruga Investment SRL is the creator of the race and is responsible for the sports organization and logistics of the Isabel de Torres Trail, which will take place on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

ART. 2 RACE DEFINITION
Isabel de Torres Trail is a trail competition open to runners, walkers, and Nordic walkers. It covers a distance of 20.3 km and will take place in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Distances in natural environments are approximate.
The course includes elevation changes and mountain difficulty, with rocky paths.

Hydration points:
CP1: Km 6.3 – Casabera San Piñé area, Los Tanos community
CP2: Km 10 – End of the road before crossing the river
CP3: Km 16 – El Cupey

Elevation gain/loss: +1548 m / -851 m
Total distance: 20.3 km
Maximum incline: 45.7%

ART. 3 REGISTRATION CONDITIONS
Participants must be of legal age, regardless of gender. Minors must present a waiver letter signed by their parents.
All participants must sign a document releasing the organization from all liability.

ART. 4 MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND INSURANCE
Bartaruga Investment SRL provides civil liability insurance.
Medical assistance will be available during the race.
The organization assumes no responsibility in case of accidents, death, or damages suffered by athletes during the event.

ART. 5 WAIVER
Participants are fully informed of the risks involved and take part at their own responsibility. The organization is released from any liability for accidents, falls, illness, injuries, death, or damages of any kind during the event. Participants may not attribute responsibility to third parties, even in cases caused by themselves.
Registration and signing of the rules and waiver exempt the organization and all participating companies from any liability.

ART. 6 ACCEPTANCE OF RULES
By registering, participants accept these rules and all their articles and authorize the organization to modify them during the event according to Art. 17.
The organization reserves the right to make changes to rules, routes, and start times at any moment.

ART. 7 MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
Each participant must carry the minimum required safety equipment throughout the race.
This equipment may be checked at any time and must be complete, under penalty of sanctions.

Mandatory equipment:

  • Race bib number provided by the organization, always fully visible and attached to the front of the shirt or jacket
  • Closed running shoes (sandals or open shoes are prohibited)
  • Bottle or hydration pack with at least 1 liter of water
  • Extra clothing for use at the finish in case of wind or rain at the summit
  • Whistle
  • Trail poles are optional
  • Sunglasses, cap, and mosquito repellent are recommended

ART. 8 CATEGORIES
Top 3 male and female finishers
Top male and female walker

ART. 9 AWARDS
Trophies/plaques will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers and the top male and female walker.
Special awards may be given at the organization’s discretion.

Certificates by age category:
18–29
30–39
40–49
50–59
60+

All finishers will receive a commemorative medal.

ART. 10 CLASSIFICATION
Times will be recorded in hours, minutes, and seconds.
The shortest time determines the winner.

ART. 11 TIME LIMIT
The time limit for completing the 20K race is 6 hours and 30 minutes, with a cutoff at Km 16 (CP3) at 10:30 AM.
The organization reserves the right to withdraw any runner whose pace or condition may compromise the event.

ART. 12 THE COURSE
The course will be fully marked with red and white tape and arrows. Participants must follow this official route.
Shortcuts are not allowed, and all checkpoints must be passed. Assistance is only guaranteed on the official course.
Distances in natural environments are approximate.

The finish line is at the summit of Isabel de Torres Mountain. Participants may return to the city by safari truck or private transport.

ART. 13 RACE DEVELOPMENT / PENALTIES
Route information will be provided 30 minutes before the start.
Each checkpoint will offer water, fruit, and cookies.

Participants may be penalized for:

  • Bib not visible or incorrectly placed
  • Littering during the race

Penalties:
1st warning: 30-minute penalty
2nd warning: 45-minute penalty
3rd warning: disqualification

Warnings may be issued by any official staff member of 100km del Caribe.

ART. 14 WITHDRAWAL
In case of withdrawal, participants must immediately inform a staff member and hand in their bib.
They will remain under the organization’s care until transported to the finish area.

ART. 15 DISQUALIFICATION
Participants will be disqualified if they:

  • Fail to pass the start or any checkpoint
  • Use any form of transportation
  • Receive unauthorized external assistance
  • Litter outside designated areas
  • Refuse medical evaluation or decisions
  • Threaten or verbally abuse organizers or behave inappropriately

The organizing committee has final authority on disqualifications.
Disqualified participants will have their chip and bib removed.

ART. 16 IMAGE RIGHTS
All image rights of the “Isabel de Torres Trail” belong to the organization.
By registering, participants consent to the use of their name and image.
Photos and videos may only be used privately unless special authorization is granted.

ART. 17 ORGANIZATIONAL RIGHTS
The race director reserves the right to intervene and modify aspects of the race as needed, with communication provided during the briefing.
The organization also reserves the right to change the route, distance, or stages due to weather, safety, technical, or organizational reasons.
